Will Kain on RBC’s Powering Sustainable Ideas Podcast: Rethinking carbon removal as infrastructure

Avnos CEO Will Kain recently joined RBC Capital Markets’ Powering Sustainable Ideas podcast to discuss how a new approach to Direct Air Capture (DAC) is opening up opportunities across energy, water, and industrial infrastructure.

In conversation with Jonathan Sisto, Will explores how Avnos’ Hybrid Direct Air Capture (HDAC) technology is redefining what carbon removal can do – not just capturing CO₂, but delivering additional value in the process.

Unlike traditional systems, HDAC produces water as part of the carbon capture process, rather than consuming it. This creates new flexibility across a range of environments and applications, while helping address broader resource challenges. One area of strong potential is alongside data centers, where HDAC can:

  • Make use of available waste heat to improve efficiency
  • Return water into cooling systems
  • Support more effective use of existing infrastructure.

The result is a model where carbon removal works in tandem with core operations – supporting performance, efficiency, and sustainability goals at the same time.

“Avnos has redefined what carbon removal can be – not just removal, but infrastructure that solves multiple constraints at once.”
Will Kain, CEO, Avnos
